The Migration Bureau Uzhgorod (MBU) is a department of the Charity Foundation Caritas of the Greek-Catholic Diocese of Mukachevo. MBU is providing legal and social assistance to refugees, asylum seekers and migrants since 2006. MBU has been founded through the co-operation of Caritas Austria and Charity Foundation Caritas of the Greek-Catholic Diocese of Mukachevo, implementing the European Union funded projects named “The Establishment of Migration Management System in Zakarpattya/Ukraine” (started – June 2004, finished – December 2006) and “Enhancing capacities in the filed of protection and support for refugees and asylum seekers in Zakarpattya/Ukraine” (started – January 2007, finished – December 2008).
