  Brief Biography

  Bishop Ivan was born on June 26, 1921 in the village of Mala Kopanya Vynohradivskoho district Zakarpattya region.

  1942, graduated from high school in the city Hust. In the same year joined the Uzhgorod Theological Academy. In the autumn of 1944 became a volunteer Czechoslovak Liberation Army. Demobilize by the order to continue training in Theological Academy, which ended in 1947.

  July 6, 1947 received his priestly ordination from the hands of Bishop Theodore Romzhi. Appointed prefect and the teacher Uzhgorod Theological Academy, served as a notary diocesan administration.

  From 16 February 1949, after the elimination of Mukachevo Greek Catholic diocese, until 1987 worked in state enterprises, and then retired.

  24 Aug., 1978 in the village Onokivtsi, near Uzhgorod, received episcopal ordination from the hands of Bishop Alexander Hiry.

  In January 1979, after the death of the Apostolic Administrator Nicholas Murano was the bishop-ordynary of Mukachevo diocese.

  21 Jan., 1991 received from Pope Ioann Pavel II confirm the credentials of the diocesan bishop.

  While serving as bishop of Рis Excellency Ivan Semediy Kir was founded Сaritas structure, which now has name of Charity fund «Карітас-Caritas» Mukachevo Greek Catholic diocese, for the charitable activities and help for people.

  25 Jan, 2003, after the Holy Father accepted his resignation, Bishop Ivan became bishop emeritus.

  Died on 6 December 2008.
