ERSO Conference in Lviv PDF Print E-mail

22-23 January 2009 in Lviv in the framework of the project ERSO was held International Conference on «Challenges towards the reintegration of returning to Ukraine». Its members, and that 70 representatives from various government and public social services in Ukraine, including the director of the Charitable Fund «Карітас-Caritas» Mukachevo Greek-Catholic diocese, considered the problem of the return of compatriots from foreign work travells and by providing reintegration assistance psychological, social, legal and material.

On the first day, during a plenary session, the organizers of the event presented a draft ERSO. It foresees the creation and functioning network of partner organizations in the return of returnees, including Ukraine. Caritas Austria responsible for the implementation. A key partner in Ukraine is ERSO ICF Caritas Ukraine. Delegates also got acquainted with reintegration assistance programs ERSO partners in Ukraine.

The next day was the signing of the memorandum agreement. Lviv regional employment center has also signed the document, which confirmed the readiness to assist all efficiently repatriated - residents of the region. Also on this day to the network «Solidarity with Ukraine» was involved new partners.

Network ERSO (European Organization for reintegration assistance) was created by combining 11 European organizations that provide reintegration assistance to migrants who voluntarily returned home. On March 1, 2008, it combines: ACCEM (ES), Caritas Austria, Caritas Belgium, Caritas Bulgaria, Caritas Essen (DE), Caritas Europe, Caritas Hungary, Cordaid-Mediation Agency for Return / Maatwerk (NL), ICMC ( BE), Raphaels-Werk (DE), Refugee Action (UK).

The purpose is to establish and develop cooperation between partners ERSO, which provides for the exchange of information, examination results, methods of work. Partner organizations will provide individual counseling for returnees and their families, and comprehensive reintegration assistance in all spheres of activities (legal, psychological, medical, financial, employment or training). An important means of operation will be a website, where applicants receive reintegration assistance can register for further communication with the ERSO. It may start their way home. The men who decided to return home, should feel that the country will be concerned about it and do not leave, as in exile, face to face with their problems.
