19-20 March 2009 in Uzhgorod, there was a regional seminar on «Migration on new eastern border of the European Union» organized by the State Committee on Nationalities and Religions and NGO «AWO Haymantgarden» (Germany), with financial support of the EU. The seminar discussed the problems of resistance to transit illegal migration of foreigners and the protection of refugees and asylum seekers at the new eastern border with the EU. Participants in the seminar were representatives of public authorities and NGOs from Germany and Ukraine. The representative of the Charitable Foundation «Карітас-Caritas» Mukachevo Greek Catholic diocese also took part and presented the activities in migration sphere. Also during the seminar were discussed the problems of labour migration and illegal migration. Documents from seminar will be published in a book.
